Cernier - day to day shots

Cernier is the Swiss village we've lived in since mid July.  It is a small village, 850 metres above sea level,  in the Val de Ruz, about 15 minutes drive from Neuchâtel in the French speaking part of Switzerland.  The following photos are random shots taken as we go shopping - recorded here as much for us as for you.

Looking back down our little road "Chemin des Jonquilles", complete with garbage bags out for the twice-weekly collection.  You can just see our red Peugeot on the right hand side - waaaaaay down the end.

En route to Migros supermarket.

A vegie/flower garden on the roadside with interesting house in the background.  This sort of garden is not at all unusual - on public roads, and easily accessible, but with apparently little pilfering.

Back of the Catholic church on the way to Cernier centre.

The path we nearly always miss - Jan heading down to the next level of road with her trusty shopping bag.

View down the road to the roundabout - the hairdressers' (M. Brunner) is on the left at the end.

Migros shopping centre.  One of three largish supermarkets in Cernier which service the whole valley from what we can make out.  Downside is that most of the smaller shops have been forced to close down.  Migros is notable for being the only local supermarket that doesn't sell alcohol.

The roundabout at Cernier.

Heading down the track to our backyard from the Coop supermarket.

The garden behind our place - belongs to someone else though.

Our back yard.

The view from the front door.
