Montreux Jazz Festival

We had been planning to go to Montreux this year - after all, it's only 1-2 hours away from where we're living - but had been thinking it might be a little too difficult to do.  Daniel and Nicole came to the rescue and suggested they drive us there.  With the benefit of local knowledge, it all seemed too easy.  We caught 4 bands (or parts thereof), ate well and had a beer or two.  All in all, an excellent night and no cost for music in the park. Now if only I'd bought that t-shirt!  Post script: I ordered the t-shirt online and should have it in a week :)

Peta Gammie Quartet - nice voice, cool band.  Peta is an Australian living in Europe.

Our fantastic hosts Nicole and Daniel on the lakefront in Montreux.

Just can't believe what an amazing location Montreux is.  This photo gives absolutely no idea of what incredible scenery it is.

Noga - a trio of mainly vocals, piano, bass and guitar - was pretty astounding.  This is James Sindatry.  Probably the best live bass player I've ever seen - and what a bass!.

Noga herself. Lovely voice and interesting songs.

Jan and Neil outside the entrance - our second time through.

Neil outside the MJ Café - it's a long story. It was hard to get the photo.

Jan waiting in line for her Breton crèpe au marron.

 Jan with BB.

Nicole, Daniel and Jan outside the Festival.
