We hit France with a bang thanks to our friend Marie-Thè who showed us a terrific weekend around her home in Mantes la Jolie. Started out with a stroll around the local market, then a picnic with people from a combined left-wing groups party - spoke with a couple of Morroccan ladies, and met some friends of M-T who had lived in Oz for three years.
Next (after a rest) we headed out to a celtic music festival, with bands from various celtic groups including Brittany, Wales, Scotland, etc.
Then, to dinner on a barge on the Seine:
And a great young jazz/rock band downstairs called Alonzo Boa.
Then back to the festival for some Breton dancing:
Sunday - back to the amphitheatre for some Paris street singing from our "new friend" Ridon.
Then on to Giverny to the Monet museum and finally a beer by the Seine.
Monday - day of rest! Then on to Amsterdam and Andrew and Judy's place.
Some photos from a local (Mantes-l-J) paper.
Article from M-l-J paper about Riton - we get an oblique mention.
